“Eclissi” is inspired by an original story written by Massimo Pedroni, a radio and tv author who suffers from multiple sclerosis. He wanted to write about his personal experience of living with the disease.

The documentary tells three different stories of people with multiple sclerosis: Massimo Pedroni’s, a Rome-based physician’s and a North Italian dancer’s ones. The latter didn’t stop pursuing her dream to become a professional and brought her disease on the stage, demonstrating a huge fortitude.
These three stories are combined with doctor’s and relatives’ testimonies and suggestive images that poetically transform the physical and psychological experience of the patients. In this regard, the magnetic resonance turns into a “Futurist burial”, the patients’ exhaustion is explained as an “eclipse” of physical and vital energy, the disease itself is described as a “spider-shaped illness” that affects limbs and nerve endings.

However, the final message of the movie is positive: the disease can turn itself into a tool, a new way of getting in touch with people, without giving up the pursue of dreams and ambitions.
